Zip Lock Bags: A Great Packing Tool For Your Next Trip!
by Colline Bluehorn

Are you planning your budget for a backpacking trip? A piece of advice: don't make the mistake of using most of it for food. This could greatly hamper your budget as food is one of the most expensive items to consider when going on a trip. Unless you're willing to risk your health and cleanliness, might get expensive with food.

To save money for other things like expenses on transportation and accommodation, you may want to consider bringing food items that's easy to prepare and mix with other food that is available where you're going to be. If you find a cheap place with a small kitchen available for you, preparing your own food can save you a lot and extend your budget, perhaps even take you farther than you originally planned.

These days, it's easy to do that with zip lock bags.

These bags are reusable plastic bags with a resealable zipper. They are available in different sizes, which make packing different items with it possible.

Sizes include small, medium, large, extra large, and double extra large. Some zip lock bags are manufactured for certain uses-freezer bags, snack bags, and sandwich bags are some examples.

Zip lock bags were first patented by Robert W. Vergobbi. They were first intended to be used as bags for storing pencils. It was Robert Lejeune, a fifth grader at that time, who proved that food won't easily get spoiled with the use of one of these bags.

He publicized his theory through his school's science fair. Because of the success of his science experiment, zip lock bags were eventually created for the purpose of storing food.

Zip lock bags are also water resistant. These bags can be used to protect your items from rain.

You're sure to avoid accidents by placing your clothes, wallets, and electronic devices in zip lock bags before putting them in your bag.

Whether you're planning your first backpacking getaway or are already experienced with this stuff, consider packing your things with zip lock bags. In fact, why not bring a few with you?

The Benefits of Ziplock Bags
by Jim Listerine

Zip lock bags have a number of uses in many different industries. These kinds of bags are very dependable because of the secure locking top which provides an excellent way to keep out foreign elements that may damage or compromise the customer's products. Because of its resealable feature, it is an excellent way for keeping out contaminants such as moisture, dust, and dirt.

Whether commercial, industrial, or residential, many different businesses are using zip lock bags in varying ways.

Ziplock bags are typically used by industries to organize or ship small products. These bags can protect microchips or other sensitive materials, preserve documents, and maintain a product's freshness. Virtually anything can be placed in one of these bags for protection and packaging.

A number of these bags are made of low density polyethylene or LDPE plastic film but can also be custom-made based on the different specifications and requirements of the customer. The packaged contents are typically visible through the clear plastic film. Zip lock bags are required to meet FDA and USDA specification for food packaging.

These bags' lip or zipper can always be placed on the width dimension. The dimension is measured according to the usable dimensions within the bag. The zipper or lip is not included in the overall measurements. The zipper or lip can be sealed, opened, and resealed indefinitely. Because these sealable bags can maintain a products freshness, they have become very popular.

There is no other product more widely used than a Ziplock bag due to its wide aray of benefits. Whether the item needs repackaging, protection, or organization, ziplock bags are usually the most popular solution.

Ziplock Bags – Maximize Your Travel Budget With These Re-Sealable Plastic Bags

Planning that summer camping trip? Zip lock bags may be your best tool!

The family budget on any camping trip usually includes a large expenditure on food.  Ziplock bags or Zipper bags as they're sometimes referred to, may be the perfect tool to minimize your cost while maintaining your food safety and cleanliness.

To really save some money for other important things like travel expenses and accommodations, most families bring some food with them.  Canned tuna, pasta, olives, and perhaps even olive oil are all great choices. Pack in food that's tasty, easy-to-cook and mix with other ingredients, food that won't go sour too fast, and best of all, food that you can easily get from your kitchen cupboard.

It’s not so hard to do that in this modern world with Ziplock bags.

These bags are reusable plastic bags with a resealable zipper. They are available in different sizes, which make packing different items with it possible.

Sizes include small, medium, large, extra large, and double extra large. Some Zip lock bags are manufactured for certain uses—freezer bags, snack bags, and sandwich bags are a few examples.

Robert W. Vergobbi was the first to patent Ziplock bags. They were actually intended for use as pencil bags. But Robert Lejuene, a fifth grader at that time, stepped up and proved that they can also be used as food storage devices—food won’t easily spoil with them.

He publicized this theory through his school’s science fair. Because of the success of his science experiment, these resealable bags were then produced as food storage bags.

Ziplock bags are also water resistant. These bags can be used to protect your items from rain.

This is very nifty especially if you’re a backpacker or a mountaineer. Electronic devices, wallets, and even clothes can be placed in one of these bags for protection.

For your next camping trip, make sure to pack your things with these nifty bags. You might even want to bring a few small ziplock bags with you.
